We understand the need for the publishing industry to expand with more diverse authors. The authenticity that comes from BIPOC books is not only necessary, it is wanted and needed. This business was built with the hope of providing a platform similar to traditional publishing for authors ready to publish now but might not have an agent. Submissions at Books & Things Publishing are open to ALL.
How it started
Danielle knew writing would always be a big part of her life. Before she self published her first book, The Holly-day After, she decided it would be best to put all her books under one umbrella, or brand. The first name that came to her was Books & Things Publishing. It was simple, easy to remember and allowed room for growth or change to possibly occur down the road. When she went to secure the LLC, Danielle knew it was a sign when the business name was not taken. So, in January 2021, a week before she provided her final files for her first book, she had a logo created and added the business information to her first copyright page!

how its going
Now, in 2024, Danielle has 5 published books to her name! But more excitingly, she has a group of 12 authors, 1 editor, 1 video designer, 1 formatter and a team of illustrators all working together to publish diverse books for kids and adults!
While Books & Things Publishing is growing, we are all learning and working together with one common interest, publish the best product possible!
